“It takes a network to defeat a network.” This is the mantra of members of the International Cyber Threat Task Force (ICTTF) like Omar Todd, a cyber security expert among other things. This elite group of IT wizards was first created as a non-profit organization that met as a virtual group. The mission of this group of experts was to help connect with others in the cyber security industry of all levels to combat the “bad guys”. With those seeking to do harm in the cyber world collaborating in groups and networks in order to exchange tools, ideas, and techniques, the experts saw the need to join together to order to be effective.
The ICTTF now boasts more than 3,000 members that come from over 100 countries with local chapter meetings organized around the globe. The online ICTTF community portal sees an influx of over 20 million hits a year and works around the clock to provide the latest in cyber security information and threats.
Anyone can join in ICTTF initiatives and you do not have to be an expert to be a part if the team. Many wish to learn from more experienced cybercrime fighters and it is easy and free to join. There is no affiliation with any political parties or nations, and the community is simply comprised of those working together with a common goal in mind.
Cyber security experts such as Omar Todd believe that anyone could benefit from joining a community of experts such as the ICTTF. Becoming more aware of cyber security threats and how to protect yourself, workplace, and community helps to make the jobs easier for those seeking to rid the internet of cybercrime of all types.
